If you've ever looked into the eye of a dying deer, you will see a creature of the now and the here, a child of God who stared his life in the indifferent eye, and what did this child of God daily see, nothing but death, knowing only the price to be free. All the cavewoman and even man, craving death and the hunt and the chase, that strange, awkward and distant expression of the face, devour the carcass, losing all grace. The deer's eye has lost its soul; it now lies dead, in a stomach full.
